Exterior Mosaics

Workshop Description

This class will cover how to put mosaic together for permanent outdoor use (surviving freeze/thaw). Students will learn to test tile and other tesserae to determine feasibility for exterior application. Lecture will also cover appropriate tesserae and substrates for exterior use, adhesives, setting, grouting and sealing. Students will gain hands on experience using tools and designing and creating a 12” x 12” stepping stone using glass tesserae. Previous mosaic experience helpful but not required.
