Magical Mystery Tour: A Parent-Child Creative Journey
Along with your child become a certified creative explorer
Special Monday afternoon adventure. Join Maverick owner Bonnie Fitzgerald and visiting artist-explorer Brit Hammer for a fun-filled afternoon scavenger hunt at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. We will learn from each other new ways to look at nature and our surroundings and stimulate innovative thinking and creative solutions. Sounds too serious? No way, innovative thinking is crucial to our future and can be fun. Where would we be if daVinci hadn't been an innovative thinker?
Fitzgerald's Kids Art Camp at Maverick Mosaics has provided creative adventures for over 12 years and is now expanding beyond the studio walls. Brit Hammer is an artist, author and creativity coach visiting from The Netherlands to lead adult workshops at Maverick's Art School. Together Fitzgerald and Hammer are planning The Magical Mystery Tour to add a little whimsy to your day, put a smile on your face and provide a unique bonding experience for you and your children. Everyone will learn the art of creative exploration.

Other Child/Family Workshops: Holiday Gift Workshop for Families
A great way to spend quality time with a loved one while using your creativity to make gifts from the heart. We will provide an item for you to mosaic or you are welcome to bring your own small object to mosaic. This class is designed for an adult and child to work as a team. Participants learn about preparing materials, adhesives and finishing and each participant will make at least one completed gift item. Projects include ornaments, jeweled boxes, small mirror surrounds and trivets. Materials and use of tools are included.

Children's Make a Gift Workshop
Drop the kids off and they give them the thrill of making their own holiday gifts. We will have several projects for the children to choose from including small mosaics, sculptures, jewelry and ornaments. Suggested ages 8-14. Materials and use of tools are included.

Birthday Parties, Scout Troops and Private Parties
We are happy to host art parties for children (and adults!). We have made mosaics with children as young as 5, Mommy and me activities, Mom's night out parties and more. Projects to choose from vary depending on budget and time available - flower pots to picture frames to wind chimes! $25 per person and up, 8 person minimum. Please drop us a note if interested, all parties are private and unique.
