Workshop Description

Learn the aspects of creating dazzling mosaic decorative elements for your garden and lawn. One of a kind, quality handmade mosaic art adds a special touch of glitz and sparkle to the garden environment like nothing else, and you can make it yourself!

This workshop covers everything you need to know about creating professional permanent mosaics to withstand moisture and freeze-thaw cycles. Class lecture will include important information about selecting substrates, fixatives, tiles, and other tesserae that will endure weather year round. The hands-on project for you to create and take home with you will be a lightweight yet sturdy and weather resistant mosaic gazing ball. You will learn the clever technique of how to make the ball substrate from scratch, about using exterior rated materials, get tips and tricks for design ideas, and how to mosaic on a curved surface. You’ll go home with your own original gazing ball, and with the experience needed to make many more!
