Mosaic Window Hanging: Glass on Glass SOLD OUT

Workshop Description

SORRY WORKSHOP SOLD OUT. Please drop us a note if you are interested in the class being offered again before the end of the year, we are collecting names and will stay in touch with you if we have enough interest.

This course will be held at the Smithsonian Institution's Rippley Center, Washington, DC and is taught by Maverick Mosaics Owner, Bonnie Fitzgerald.

Embrace the beauty of stained glass. Students are introduced to glass on glass mosaic technique.

In this course students will create a beautiful stained glass window hanging. Traditional stained glass window construction requires soldering and exact cutting. In this unique mosaic technique we use groutlines as the unifying line and precise cutting is not required. Course includes training and use of glass grinder, cutting stained glass, and proper adhering using a special, non-toxic, clear adhesive.

Designs and pattern ideas provided by the instructor with the materials and time frame in mind. You are welcome to create your own design and during the first class all designs will be finalized and we will begin selecting our color palette. Finished work to measure approximately one square foot and includes hanging device.

The final class is reserved for finishing, grouting and hanging device installation. All levels welcome and no prior experience necessary.

This project is featured in Bonnie’s best selling book 300+ Mosaic Tips, Techniques, and Templates.

Said one student “I am amazed such a beautiful and finished work of art was so much fun to make in such a short amount of time”
