Pet Portraiture

Workshop Description

This will be our third time offering this popular workshop. Students will learn the process to create a portrait of their special pet combining direct and the double direct mosaic methods. You will learn how to use the appropriate tools and materials during this workshop, and the class is appropriate for all levels.

No mosaic experience necessary!

Animals are an important part of our lives. It is well known that having a pet helps people lead happier, healthier lives. Many people are lucky enough to develop a very special bond with an animal at some point in their lives.

Supplies Included:
Prepared substrate, approximately 1 sq. ft.
Drawing tools and paper
Adhesive
Grout
Assorted stained glass from Maverick’s general workshop supply

Student Supply list:
Stained glass appropriate for your animal if not selected from studio supply. Instructor will help you with selection based on your photo
Wheeled cutting tool
3 Photocopies of your pet TO SCALE
Tesserae of choice that is not listed above (such as smalti)

Our Instructor for this workshop is Andrea Shreve-Taylor. In addition to being our Director of Education, Andrea is a master of the pet portrait. She has been commissioned to create several portraits for clients and this is her favorite workshop to teach!
